Afternoon Question — ‘Hillyard Pride’

Issue: Rogers students protest ‘Hillyard’ ban: Principal Meyer on hot seat for banning derogatory cheers/Amy Cannata & David Wasson, Spokesman-Review

DFO: I’m struck that Rogers students have a self-deprecating pride in their neighborhood and that the principal doesn’t quite understand the nuance here. Then, I don’t understand Spokane that much. At columnist Doug Clark’s roast, Hillyard came in for rough treatment.

Question: Is this much ado about nothing? Or do the kids have a point?
