Issue: CdA plans to trade land to lure Salvation Army/JoNel Aleccia, Spokesman-Review
DFO: There’s an interesting subtext to the fund-raising going on to make the mega-public fitness center a reality — a church-state one. No one’s talking much about it, but a significant Salvation Army church will be a part of the Kroc Center if/when it’s built in Coeur d’Alene. City officials are doing their level best to tiptoe around the church-state question because the center is desperately needed. I tend to side with the tiptoers because I believe we’ve become draconian when it comes to church-state separation, thanks to the ACLU and its ilk.
Question: Are you bothered that the new Kroc Center comes with a Salvation Army church?
