HBO — to Bayview Herb re: Wal*Mart

Bayview Herb: "I worked for Wal-Mart for two years. In that two years, I was never ever denied a bathroom break. Breaks were scheduled every two hours. If you work an 8 hour shift, one 15 minute break in two hours...Lunch one hour...another 15 at the 6th hour. If a bathroom emergency occurs, and I have had them, You called a Customer service manager, they took over for you until your return.I enjoyed my time there. Respect for the individual is a very high priority for employment. If it weren't for the commute, I'd probably still be there. Much of the comment content above, is inaccurate, misleading, and obviously slanted to a pre-conceived position, arrived at with very little trouble given to truth."

DFO: I don't do enough grocery shopping to have a strong opinion here. I know, however, in our tourism economy that Wal*Mart enables many families to make ends meet. And I suspect that some of the anger generated against Wal*Mart is a result of a class and union thing. Herb here has firsthand knowledge of how things stack up for employees. And he's saying that much of what's being circulated about workers is inaccurate. Still, Wal*Mart's going to create a traffic mess if it opens a store at Honeysuckled and Highway 95, particularly on weekends.
