Huckleberries Online

HBO -- to Sagebrush Patriot re: Blogging

Sagebrush Patriot: "I think the most powerful manifestation of blogging (in America at least) will be a resurgence of republican values (In the literal sense of that word, not the Party name) and a grassroots drive for honesty and accountability in media and government. Information will travel with the click of a few keys, minus the touch up of the spin doctors and black-out technicians, and some lights will start going on. This enlightenment will bring unity, and the sense of self that the country was once certain of before that identity came under direct assault and vilification by the MSM and Hollywood. We will realize more of us are on the same page than we thought."

DFO: Newby blogger Justin Becker is dead on here. The major political parties have done a good job dividing us and keeping us distracted while they do the bidding of their real handlers, the large corporations, oily lobbyists or whatever other entity is pulling their strings. Meanwhile, we quibble about which side is the lesser of two evils -- the emphasis here being on the word "evils" -- while we agree on many things. You see that agreement every day in the comments section here. Shall we overcome Big Politics and Big Media someday. P'haps. But we'll certainly transform what the media will be like in the near future.
