Huckleberries Online

HBO — to Dan of the County

Dan of the County: "On a more serious note, I guess I would ask about what the readers think of an active candidate and/or already elected official making comments on their own race. I think we all had some fun and learned some things with Mike Kennedy but I wouldn't want to be inavertently "over the line" with my fellow bloggers. Of course, the day we can't talk about politics at all ... I'm outta here ..."

DFO: First, DOTC, you're not a blogger; you're a blog commenter. A blogger is the guy or gal who dedicates him/herself to the terrible discipline of pumping words into blogosphere from a designated site. As to your concern about stepping over the line ... I thought MikeK struck a nice balance. Hey, if the other candidates aren't sharp enough to use this resource, that's their problem. Mike went a long way toward re-inventing himself as a centrist nonpartisan via this blog. My biggest regret re: MikeK is that he might be too gunshy to participate here. Mebbe he has to be uber-cautious now that he's an official pol. Wish Ryan Hill would check in, too. As for your final point re: a political-free HBO. Never happen.
