Huckleberries Online

Thursday/Wild Card — 7/6/06

I achieved a coupla milestones recently that I haven't mentioned to you. In mid-June, I observed my 36th anniversary as a newspaper pro. On June 30, I passed the 29th anniversary of moving to the Northwest and launching five years of hard labor for Duane Hagadone's Kalispell Daily Inter Lake. Five years there. Two years at the Lewiston Tribune. And 22 years (as of Sept. 10) here. Time has flown by. Now, I'm about to launch a new version of print Huckleberries. And the boss is talking about setting up the equipment for Webcasts and online interviews from my office desk. It's hard to believe that an old dinosaur like me can be on the cutting edge of newspaper technology. But it's still a lot of fun. And that's a simple formula that's hard to beat. As I head home for a bite and then off to see the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre's production of Peter Pan, I'll leave you with this Wild Card ...
