The astonishing fact that (as this story notes) the report also fails to mention the mask placed over Zehm’s face—the one with the small air hole, the one not attached to any oxygen—raises further serious questions about the thoroughness and credibility of the police investigation. This does not represent an adequate investigation of the incident. It is a gift-wrapped, get-out-of-jail-free card to send to the prosecutor. This document underscores why the SPD cannot be trusted to investigate itself.
