” Your “delivery man”, Thom George, dropped off the baby formula and check here at Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery. WOW! You and your bloggers are amazing!
“I didn’t get to meet Thom. I was back in the Nursery holding a baby. We had so many crying babies; there weren’t enough arms to go around. The lead houseparent had to ask for help from our administrative side. This week I dined with some of our biggest financial supporters, showed up on TV and interviewed for the Spokesman Review, offered the invocation at a great networking meeting of Executive Women International. … all fabulous… But the best was yet to come.
“Today … I was blessed to soothe “baby Jody”. He acted so fussy and uncomfortable at first. But soon, in the quiet of the sleeping room, Jody slept in my arms as I rocked him. Ten other children soon dreamt away as well. All their parents are somewhere else; trying to cope with job interviews, health issues, poverty, homelessness, exhaustion, violence. But here at the Nursery, it’s now peaceful. Their bottles filled with the formula you’ve provided, resting from their stressful lives.
“Thank you for helping to prevent child abuse and neglect. We are grateful.”
