Last night, I got a call at home from a man who’s become a friend over the last year — Steve Groene. He is the father of two Idaho children kidnapped by a convicted sex predator, and a man who has suffered more grievous pain than anyone I’ve ever met. Steve’s had every hurt imaginable, including cancer of the throat, which now forces him to speak through a voice box because his vocal chords have been removed. But Sunday night, he had what passes for good news in his ravaged life. Joe Duncan, the man who killed his children’s mother, her fiancé, and two of Steve’s children, 13-year old Slade and 9-year old Dylan, would be pleading guilty today in an Idaho court. FOX News broke the story last night.
