JBelle: HBO’s Smart Boys Completely Miss Point

JBelle: DFO, you raise a critically important point (re: being changed by the interaction on this blog). You experience here what educators have known for at least 15 years: interactive learning sticks to the ribs. When you can wander in, out, thru, under and about the data and slap it around and squeeze it as you go, you'll keep it better than if you are doing a fly by via textbook. As wll, personal interaction is the highest form of persuaion. And that's a point all you Smart Boys completely miss: duh. You have such an opportunity to make a case here, an incredible opportunity. But you waste it with cheap shots, personal attacks and jockeying for position in the guilty pleasure of all card-carrying North Idaho Men: peeing highest at the trough. That's a rough extrapolation, but I bet you can derive the vernacular of origin. You wanna evangelize and make recuits? This is your place. But you gotta make your case. And to do that, people MUST be able to take you seriously.

DFO: Well put, JBelle. Some, I believe, are frustrated because they haven't evangelized successfully here. This isn't about winning a political war or words. HBO isn't about winning a political war of words. It's about interaction with individuals who don't hum to the same politico-religio mantra.
