LCDC Mulls Adding Sorensen, Winton to URD

Item: Renewal zones may add grade schools: Study looks at eligibility for Sorensen, Winton/Meghann M. Cuniff, Spokesman-Review

More Info: Sorensen and Winton elementary schools could become part of Coeur d’Alene’s urban renewal districts depending on the results of a study ordered Wednesday by the city’s urban renewal agency, the Lake City Development Corp. The eligibility study is the first step to amend urban renewal district boundaries to include the schools. The LCDC board must vote on an amendment proposal, and the City Council would give final approval.

Observation: Sounds like this is a way around the CAVE complaints that the LCDC can’t funnel money to Sorensen School b/c it’s outside the district. Am I reading this right?
