In the news conference this afternoon, U.S. Sen. Larry Craig apologize to his family, friends, staff and Idahoans for causing a dark cloud to settle over Idaho. But he denied doing anything wrong. He also denied adamantly that he was gay. He blamed his poor decision to not seek counsel for his misdemeanor crime on the stress created by being hounded by the Idaho Statesman. He said he didn't seek counsel from anyone. But now that he has retained counsel. He concluded by saying that there's still goals that he would like to accomplish in the U.S. Senate and that he'll announce his decision re: re-election next month.
