Huckleberries Online

Inside Huckleberries -- 8/31/07

***
Huckleberries Online is going to resume its Sunday Blogmeister At Large program this Labor Day weekend, with HBO regular Borah Triangle volunteering to supervise the thread. I'll post BT's rules and regs for running the blog Saturday night.

Huckleberries hears ... that one of the Repub faithful got quite a laugh in the men's john at the Central Committee meeting Tuesday. Knowing that the elected elephant was in the next stall, he slowly started tapping his foot ...

I'm delighted to see ex-Brand X cops reporter Dave Turner land on his feet. He's stringing for the Inlander now and posted this story re: Rudy Giuliani's recent visit to Coeur d'Alene: Coeur d'Alene's mayor, too?

MamaJD brought an interesting point to my attention. On occasion, I've posted North Idaho Blog Roll material out front here -- only to have a panicked blogger call asking me to take it down. It's fairly well understood here, I think, that I regularly use material on HBO to promote the blogs. So, here's the deal. If you don't want me to use an item, please note somewhere at the top of it that you don't want it used here. OK?

BTW, Family Phil makes a good point re: the big numbers HBO attracts and the relatively few commenters/blurkers who click onto the poll. What's up with that? I thought it would be a fun gadget for you -- and an informal way to gauge sentiment for various topics.

Finally, I'm happy to see former HBO blogger/commenter Holly Bowen land on the opinion page of the UIdaho Argonaut here. Holly started blogging when she was at Post Falls High and was one of the editors at the North Idaho College Sentinel.
