Huckleberries Online

Inside Huckleberries — 2/12/07

*Blogmeister Emeritus KenS sends an alert that the SR has developed a Gonzaga forum here. (Besides the big controversy involving Josh Heytvelt and Theo Davis, the monster jam by Jeremy Pargo at the end of the game with St. Marys is drawing the most comment at the moment.)

*Steve Badraun e-mails: “I have accepted a job with a large Tulsa garden center this week. Also, on that same day, I bought a house! That means that I have a mortgage payment and I guess I will be staying here for a while :-) It is starting to feel good to be picking out furniture and finally getting close to unpacking the boxes of my life after 9 years living in apartments and being on the road.”

*New SR political cartoonist Noah Kroese has indicated he’ll drop by HBO Blogfest ‘07 Saturday.

*Bayview Herb picked up this on the Drudge Report, written by Tim Rutten of the LA Times.com: “The late Murray Kempton once described editorial writers as ‘the people who come down from the hill after the battle to shoot the wounded.’ Nowadays, media analysts are the guys who follow behind them, going through the pockets of the dead looking for loose change.” (So, we editorial writers aren’t the worst of the worst re: media scavengers?)

*Scanner Traffic (9:24 a.m.): A woman bending over to tie her shoes reports serious back trouble; in fact, she sez that the pain is worse than child birth. (Hat Tip: Kathy Plonka)
