Huckleberries Online

Inside Huckleberries — 2/28/07

*At Hudson’s Hamburgers today, Councilman Ron Edinger introduced colleague Erica Curless to former Mayor For Life Ray Stone, who responded: “I hate The Spokesman-Review.” Erica smiled and then said: “In that case, Dave Oliveria says, “Hi.” To which Stone replied: “I hate Dave Oliveria worse that The Spokesman-Review.” Then, he asked her to publicize an upcoming concert featuring his band. Same old Stone. That’s why he’s missed.

*I knew the blog was hopping yesterday — with the great topics and banter. But I was surprised by the final page-view count — a record for a non-election day/week: 7188. Thanks for continuing to tune in!

*Remember that discussion we had about rigs the other day? Here’s Erica Curless’ definition: “A rig is not the fancy BMW, driven by a moron, that’s currently (9:24 a.m.) stuck on the offramp of I90 & NW Blvd and is causing traffic to back up onto the freeway.

*Colleague Taryn Brodwater called at 8:50 a.m. from Hayden to say: Conditions out here suck. She sez prairie roads are slick and near whiteout conditions prevail. She said she slid through a stoplight near Wal*Mart. And that a neighbor had slid into a fire hydrant. Sez Taryn: Tell people to stay home if they can.

*KeithinCDA writes: Since it is a snow day skip work this morning and come watch the video “The Secret” at NIC at 10AM. Great way to help influence your outlook on life, love, happiness, work, relatiosnhsips etc.. Bring a donation for Children’s Village or Post Falls Food Bank. This is not any type of sales pitch. My company is fronting all the costs, using it to benefit two great local causes while also using it is as training/motivation for our employees….worth 1.5 hours and the cause. … Schuler Aditorium at 10AM.
