Butch Otter, whose mother named him Clement Leroy, has spent many years dreaming about being the governor of this state. But if you ask him whether one of those dreams was to tell Idahoans that he needed to raise taxes by some $200 million, he has a simple answer. Now that he's six months into the job, though, he knows that's exactly what he's going to have to do. Some Idaho roads are deadly dangerous. James Bond: This one on one interview with the Idaho Statesman by Butch Otter ... (is) in reality ... Butch's announcement that he will be supporting a $200 million dollar tax increase this year for roads. Unreal. I posted the information about how our state budget increases have FAR outpaced both inflation and population growth since the complete Republican takeover in Idaho in 1994, and this is just going to make it even worse. Government just keeps growing in Idaho under the Idaho Republican Party.
