I saw my first high school football game of the year last night at Evans Field, with Mountain View beating Coeur d'Alene 21-9. Mountain View was bigger and stronger, with a QB that didn't appear able to throw downfield until he needed to do so. Then, he delivered on 2 or 3 big throws that broke the Vikings' back. CHS was smaller, quicker, but couldn't run on the Mavericks. It was a nice night to watch football. OfCoffee was sitting a few rows behind me. I don't think this will be the year that CHS beats defending state champion Lake City. But I had a kid that graduated from each high school. So I enjoy whatever success each local school has. It's hard to beat the type of entertainment that prep football provides for the price, only $5. The North Idaho football scores follow:
