PDX Pup: Spirit Lake Can Only Wish It Was CDA

PDX Pup: Mr. Spencer, is this why you have to come over to Coeur d'Alene to meddle in their government affairs? Spirit Lake's government is just too darn small for your brand of muckraking? I mean, since they don't do things like build libraries or community centers for you know, THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY, especially since they can always just trot on over and use Coeur d'Alene's first-class facilities? (Geez, I just had to delete a great little follow-up sentence because I think it goes against the rules of civility here. Dang rules. :p)

DFO: You make a great point, Pup. I don't know why Spirit Lake Larry and Post Falls Macy are sticking their noses in CDA's business. Last time I look, they probably pay taxes in 7 or 8 local districts that they could pester as a constituent, chief of which is Kootenai County. Spencer's attacks on the Kroc Center are legendary. Macy gets credit for teaming up with Kathy Sims to knock down the popular local-option tax a few years ago. So, what happens. The Legislature closes the constitutional loophole and Kootenai County voters approve it again. In other words, these guys are not only out of step with county residents but they're trying to mess things up in areas where they aren't even constituents. Macy, in particular, was out of line when he used words like "ignorant," "incompetent" and "criminal" to describe the actions of the Coeur d'Alene City Council. He deserved Dixie's wrath. (BTW, Pup, I also struggle to keep it between the lines when I'm dealing with CAVE people.
