KeithE: CAVErs Will Fail Miserably

Keith Erickson: Dave, thanks for the council report. Very interesting. I always try and catch it on Woody TV, but missed this one. Doesn't it make you miss the old days when you covered city hall? That beat will be a lot of fun in the weeks ahead, for the reporters who get to cover it and all of us interested in the election. My prediction (I know, it's an easy one) the CAVE people will fail miserably.

DFO: I agree that the incumbents should win easily. Formula: name recognition + quality service + time in community = re-election. Susie Snedaker might have a shot at Dixie's seat b/c she's run before. But P&Z Chairman John Bruning will be formidable in a five-way race b/c he's well respected and will have gale-wind support of the rest of the council. On the other hand, Mary Souza will return from Europe to cheer-lead for the anti-LCDC challengers named by Dixie Reid Tuesday. The CDA Press will be on their side, too. They'll attract some votes and move their agenda to neuter LCDC ahead a little. Saying that, I agree with you that Oliveria and Erickson should mount up again to cover one last council race. That'd be fun.
