KREM2: Real Cost Of Driving — 54 Cents/Mile
AAA says it will cost the average driver 54 cents to drive a car one mile. At that rate, take a car from Spokane to Seattle and it will cost you $151. Every mile the rubber meets the road is costing drivers about 2 cents more than it did last year. Anthony Peters works in the Navy in western Washington. Every weekend when he's not deployed he drives 342 miles to visit his wife who is based at Fairchild.
