Joseph Duncan now wants to act as his own attorney in his death penalty hearings, his lawyers told the court this morning. “He has requested that we recognize his desire to exercise his constitutional right to represent himself,” attorney Mark Larranaga told the court. U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge testily said he’ll defer the request until Friday morning. “I’m sure counsel are well aware that there’s a number of facts we have to take into consideration.
