Meghann: In Interest Of Full Disclosure …

RE: Lawyers: Kootenai County prosecutors tampered w/jury
Meghann Cuniff: In the spirit of openness, I feel it best to share my family ties to the legal community in case any other questions arise. My father, who died about five years ago, was a defense lawyer with his own practice in the Corvallis and Philomath area for many years. His brother, my uncle, works as an asbestos lawyer in Annapolis, Maryland, essentially suing companies for asbestos violations. His son, my cousin, works as a lawyer for a D.C firm specializing in civil litigation, medical malpractice and products liability. My oldest brother has struggled with methamphetamine addiction for some time and began serving a two-year sentence at a minimum-security Oregon prison last week. It's not something I like to offer up, but I am not ashamed. My family experiences touch a lot of areas, as most of my father's friends were defense lawyers, prosecutors and judges and I grew around a lot of them. My aunt runs a center in the Corvallis area that deals with, among other issues, the affects of crime and drug addiction on children and families. More here.
