Risch Defends 2006 Property Tax Cut

Item: Risch: Voters gave 2006 property tax cuts 72% OK/Idaho Statesman

More Info: This newspaper and my Democratic opponent campaigned against the tax reform bill together. Although I respect their arguments, I disagree. They tried to convince voters in 2006 to vote no on the ballot question. Other Idaho newspapers and editorial boards supported our action wholeheartedly. They applauded the bill for finally taking action on a growing problem that was causing homeowners, especially senior citizens, to lose their homes. More than 72 percent of Idaho voters gave their approval to this tax plan. Less than 28 percent of Idaho voters were convinced to vote no.

Question: Larry LaRocco and the Demos continue to pound on the 2006 property tax cut and resulting penny sales tax increase. Is this issue playing with the general public?
