‘Impeachment’ Ornament, Anyone?
Deborah Lawrence (who provided this photo for the AP) holds in Seattle the Christmas ornament she designed after being selected to decorate ornaments for the White House tree. The nine-inch ball Lawrence created is covered with swirly red and white stripes and features a picture of Democratic Rep. Jim McDermott of Seattle, a longtime Bush foe who backs impeachment. Tiny glued-on text hails the impeachment resolution. A spokeswoman for first lady Laura Bush said Tuesday that the tree will not include Lawrence's ornament. Bush had asked members of Congress to pick artists to decorate ornaments for the White House tree to showcase all 435 congressional districts.
Question: Would you buy one of these ornaments as a keepsake, if artist Deborah Lawrence marketed replicas? Why? Why not?
