Police: Elderly Man Lied About Robbery

Kenneth Koch cut himself with a knife because he was depressed about the upcoming holidays, but when a friend asked about his injuries he claimed he’d been beat up and robbed for his groceries. Koch, who is in his 60s – not 87, continued to lie about the robbery after his friend took him to the hospital and police were called. Rather than admit to self-mutilation, Koch said he’d been roughed up by three men near a Safeway store near Mission and Hamilton as he traveled home to O’Malley Apartments in his wheelchair. He even described the suspects down to their clothes and facial hair/Meghann M. Cuniff, SR. More here.
