NIC Responds To ‘Scanner Traffic’ Entry
12:45 p.m. Officer: "Do you know if the college has initiated some sort of lockdown procedure?" Second Officer: "Nobody's seen what sounds like anything here."
Stacy Hudson, NIC PRster: First, there was no weapon on campus and at no time was NIC’s Meyer Health and Sciences Building in a lockdown, despite what may have crossed the scanner. During the noon hour, faculty of the nursing program located in Meyer Health and Science Building released a student from the program for academic reasons. This student was distraught over this action, and made a statement about getting a gun from his safe and using it.
