Sisyphus: Idaho’s Next U.S. Attorney?

While Idaho mostly seemed to confirm its political status quo, the party shift in the national election brings some bright spots for Idaho Democrats. In addition to the scads of other federal appointments, Obama also determines the federal justice positions, including who will be Idaho's next US Attorney, a postion currently held by Blackfoot Republican, Bush appointee, Tom Moss. Certainly the time consuming task of choosing every state's leading federal official is a daunting one for a president, so a custom developed that substantial deference is given to selections made, and provided to the president, by that state's ranking member of congress who shares the same party. In Idaho's case that would be newly elected Congressman Walt Minnick/Sisyphus, 43rd State Blues. More here.
