Trib: Nonini’s Thin Skin Shows

When the facts are on your side, the lawyers' advice goes, pound on the facts. When the law is on your side, pound on the law. When neither is on your side, pound on the table. Idaho legislator Bob Nonini pounded on the table last week after being on the receiving end of two critical editorials from these pages. In a Turnabout response published Tuesday, Rep. Nonini, R-Coeur d'Alene, did not charge that we had misrepresented the facts about his legislative activities. Neither did he dispute the arguments of the editorials in question. Instead, he complained that we had not given him the courtesy of an advance call or e-mail/Jim Fisher, Lewiston Tribune. More here

Question: Should Nonini have complained in writing about critical editorials? Or should he have grinned and beared it?
