I had a most-unusual perspective since I lived in the heart of the Haight-Ashbury (AKA the Hashbury) during the height of the Love Generation's reign in power. Not only did I live in the heart of the Hashbury District, including a winter spent living down the street from Kesey's House, and another three doors down from Joplin's House on Fell Street, but for three years I walked each day down the infamous Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley through love fests, riots and various other forms of civil insurrection/David Laird.
