Fisher: Nader Morphing Into Harold Stassen

It's a good question whether an editorial page should waste ink on the man who is determined to be known as the Harold Stassen of the 21st century, but more than Ralph Nader's persistence in futility prompts this rebuke. The former consumer champion has grown so detached from reality that his campaign pronouncements must be censured. Nader, remember, claimed in 2000, when he ran as the Green Party's nominee for president, that there were no discernible differences between major party candidates George W. Bush and Al Gore. Anyone taking that assertion seriously would have to believe today that the nation would still be deep in debt and mired in an Iraq war and that John Roberts and Samuel Alito would be on the Supreme Court if Gore had been president the last eight years/Jim Fisher, Lewiston Tribune. Question: Why is Nader's announcement for prez driving some D's crazy?
