Huckleberries Online

Inside Huckleberries — 7/25/08

Kevin Taylor/Inlander
Quanah Matheson of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe stands in front of the root ball of the tribe's centuries-old Medicine Tree. Former SR buddy Kevin Taylor e-mailed the photo after I published his story about the tree Thursday here. Kevin also provided a lead for Stickman to get some wood from the tree. And Stickman tells HBO that he'd like to make some of his renown sticks for the tribe. I'll post another photo of the tree in the comments section.

*I've added 3 bloggers to my "friends" blogroll: Collingwood Corner, Angry Young Woman, and Bill Sali Hates Idaho. I'm in the process of reinstating another blogger. I generally delete any link that hasn't posted in a month. But you can get back on my blogrolls simply by asking and then being more consistent with your posting.

*Cis/From A Simple Mind e-mails a Snopes report that verifies the concerns circulating on the Net that sugar-free gum is harmful to dogs.

*The Idaho Parks & Rec department has launched a blog site for the Idaho Centennial Trail here. Hat Tip to SReporter Taryn Hecker for passing the news to HBO.
