Question: Public Speaking
(Commissioner Rick Currie) was speaking the obvious (when he said at his re-election announcement that he's a poor public speaker). The ability to speak in public is one of the hardest and most frightful functions of a politician. Appearance makes a difference too. Look back through the years, especially in the Presidential races. The way you look and sound, as much as people deny it, does make a difference. The old “comfortable shoe” syndrome plays a part, as in the case of Ronald Reagan. So, let the beauty pageant begin. Remember friends, a Beagle did win the Westminster Dog Show/Dick Haugen.
