Craig Attorneys Ask For Dismissal of Charges

Item: Craig attorneys ask court to let him withdraw guilty plea/Associated Press

More Info: Attorneys for U.S. Sen. Larry Craig are asking the Minnesota Court of Appeals to correct a “manifest injustice” by allowing the Idaho Republican to withdraw his guilty plea stemming from an airport restroom sex sting. In court papers filed today, the lawyers asked the appellate judges to reverse the trial court’s decision to let stand Craig’s guilty plea to a disorderly conduct charge. They also asked the court to vacate his plea.

DFO: Spitzer shoulda asked Craig about tips for playing out the string until his term was up. Say what you will about Idaho's Republican senator, he'll finish his final term in office and take some comfort that he's regarded as more effective than two mates in the U.S. Senate.
