Otter’s Drug Treatment Veto Hammers Programs

Item: Funds loss hammers treatment facilities: Gov. Otter vetoed bills that would have provided $16.8 million for programs/Sean Garmire, Coeur d’Alene Press

More Info: Drug treatment facilities across Idaho will lose significant funding this year if lawmakers fail to reconcile the governor’s veto. Two bills that would have provided $16.8 million for drug addiction programs were vetoed by Gov. Butch Otter on March 20.

Question: Did Gov. Butch Otter act responsibly when he vetoed the $16.8M approved by the Legislature for drug treatment programs?
