Headlines @ 5 — 5/15/08

The general public and some members of the press were barred from the taping of Wednesday’s Republican debate among candidates for the U.S. Senate by debate organizer KTVB-Channel 7. The event, recorded at 7 p.m. at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa for later broadcast, was open only to those on KTVB’s guest list, said Bryce Quary, director of conferences and events for NNU. Among those barred were the Associated Press, an Idaho Statesman reporter and independent candidate Rex Rammell, who parked a campaign bus outside the 1,500-seat Swayne Auditorium/IStatesman.
