Theaters Raising Ticket, Popcorn Prices

Item: Moviegoers’ eyes could pop at the price of corn: At least one Boise movie theater may raise its ticket and food prices next week as a result of rising corn and gas costs. One national movie chain upped prices Friday/McClatchy Newspapers.

More Info: Partly because of the rising price for popcorn, Kansas City-based AMC Entertainment Inc. on Thursday announced that beginning Friday, ticket prices were going to be increased from $9 to $10 for weekend showtimes after 4 p.m. at its five Kansas City theaters. Also starting Friday, AMC’s popcorn price jumped 25 cents nationwide to, for example, $4.75, $5.75 and $6.75 for the snack.

Question: How much do you pay for snacks when you go to the movies? What do you buy?
