Breaking! Boat Prop Cuts Off Wife’s Arm

A man is in the Spokane County Jail charged with “assault by watercraft” on his wife. The boat propeller that severed a woman’s arm accidentally on Newman Lake Wednesday night. Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies told KREM 2 NEWS that 27-year-old Robert Kienel of Spokane was drinking with his wife, Alana Kienel, and a friend on his 20-foot Quantum Bow-Rider ski boat on Newman Lake Wednesday night. At about 5:15 p.m., deputies say Kienel was going about 30 mph in his boat when he made a hard turn while his wife was bow-riding in the front, dumping his wife into the lake whereupon the boat’s prop cut off her left arm below the elbow.
