Trustees Tap Foregone Taxes For Mill Site

Item: NIC: Foregone taxes an option: Budget includes funding for possibility of land purchase for future ed. corridor/Maureen Dolan, Coeur d'Alene Press

More Info: It's official. North Idaho College can collect more than $2.4 million in foregone taxes from Kootenai County property owners to help pay for the creation of an educational corridor. Trustees formalized that decision at Wednesday's board meeting when they unanimously approved the college's budget for the 2008-2009 fiscal year which includes the collection of foregone taxes as revenue to be used toward the purchase of property to create a higher education complex along the Spokane River.

DFO: Mayor Sandi Bloem and Trustees Mic Armon and Judy Meyer will speak about the Education Corridor at the Pachyderm Club breakfast meeting Friday morning at 7 at IHOP.
