Two great things happened Friday -- our little church of about 150 souls raised at least $6000-6500 for the stricken Steve Tucker family. And I made my next-to-last mortgage payment. First, the fund-raiser. We staged a spaghetti dinner, silent auction, and auction of six dozen items (all of which sold but four) to raise the loot. Church people and community visitors, including one of you who slipped a $100 bill to the receptionist for me, were extremely generous. As for the house, that who-hoo you hear coming from the Borah Triangle the morning of Oct. 5 will be from my house. I've never lived in a house totally owned by anyone. I'll tell you how it feels in a month. Now, I'll play the Wild Card ...
