Anybody recognize this mushroom as to species? Safe? Poison? The only reason I ask is we picked it yesterday at the lake, and had it in our spaghetti sauce this evening, it had a lovely smoky flavor with a spicy aftertaste, and now me and the boys all have bad stomach aches and I've got this weird nosebleed/TUBOB. I'm not sure if any mycologists frequent this blog but, but if you're out there I'd like to hear from you. I'm looking for someone to show me the secrets of mushroom harvesting. My editor asked me to go snipe hunting and write about it, but I think I'd rather hunt fungi/CindyH.

Question: Anyone out there know how to tell a good wild mushroom from a poisonous one?
