Great Depression Reprise

Jeremy Conroy, 13, sells apples in front of the New York Stock Exchange this morning in New York. Conroy is reenacting a scene of boys selling apples during the Great Depression. He is donating any profits to the Obama campaign. Stocks are opening higher but financial markets remained troubled a day after the House voted down a proposed $700 billion rescue plan for the financial sector.
