CindyH: On this day in 1985, a handsome helicopter pilot approached me after church on a Sunday evening and asked if I'd like to see a movie with him. We saw “The Purple Rose of Cairo” at the Fox theater, and then had pie and hot chocolate at Shari's on North Division. We talked until 2 AM. The next day, my mom asked how the date went. I replied, “It was the best first date I've ever had.” It wasn't the last. We've been dating ever since :-)
