Sarah Palin To Visit Sandpoint, Too

Former GOP vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin is scheduled to make a stop in Sandpoint this month to promote her autobiography. The book-signing event is planned for Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Sandpoint Business & Events Center. It lasts from 6-9 p.m. Palin’s plans were confirmed Tuesday through Lynda Scott, who owns the events center with her husband, Brad. “The date and time is set,” said events center Manager Kathy Andruzak/Keith Kinnaird, Bonner County Bee. More here. H/T: Cis

Question: Although Sarah Palin remains one of the most controversial figures in the country today, should Sandpoint be proud that it’s the birth place of the first woman to run as a vice presidential candidate for the Republican Party.

Question: Where was Geraldine Ferraro born? Thought so.

I’m proud that she helped screw up McCain’s chances!

The “pride” thing always bothers me. How can one take pride in something one had nothing to do with? Course, I feel the same way about people who take pride in a team. If the prideful one actually had something to do with the plays, the strategy, or even the existence of a team, maybe pride is warranted. Otherwise… So, no. Sandpointers are welcome to enjoy the historical fact, to be pleased to see someone they admire, or to get a signed copy of a gift for a conservative friend. But unless they personally had something to do with her birth or her education or her fate, where’s the pride?

They can take pride in the fact that Sarah Palin identifies with Alaska rather than Sandpoint. I feel badly for Alaska, though.

Ah, if they have nothing better to be proud about?

Let’s hope that isn’t the case.

Sandpoint should be very concerned about what was in its drinking water the year Palin was spawned.

Will she be flying in on Billy Graham’s plane while her helpers do the ground work on the Palin “bus” tour? We’ll see…

The week after, everyone will forget and it will be just a memory for those who went… even tho it is only 2 miles from my house.. Nope, I am not going.. heck I wouldn’t even walk across the street to see her. Maybe take pictures of the people who do, but walk across …nah..

And now, a crash course in synonyms:

    Sarah Palin = Loose Cannon.

Easy there, Escapee… bashing on Palin is a lot like bashing on Twilight. It’s so easy, but you’ll feel dirty later.
