Golfer Tiger Woods, engulfed in media speculation over his private life after a car accident in the middle of the night, apologized on Wednesday for “transgressions” in a statement that apparently addressed allegations he had extra-marital relationships. Woods, the world’s number one golfer and a married father of two young children, said in a statement published on his website that he had “not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves,” without directly addressing the allegations of infidelity/Reuters. More here.
Question: Is Tiger Woods sorry that he let his family down re: his recent accident (and allegations of affairs) or that he got caught?

He is rich he doesn’t need morals. Maybe he should run for a political office.

I just really don’t think it’s any of my business. I wish the press would let the family deal with it privately. I feel bad for the family. And I feel bad for the intrusion on his neighbors’ privacy too.

I’ll just say this - why is this ANY of our business? Tiger Woods is not a public official. He did not commit a felony. He paid his fine for the accident. It’s none of our beeswax.
I find it irritating that so many Americans DEMAND that Woods makes some sort of statement. I find it sickening that we have no respect for a person’s privacy.
Turn off the damned 24/7 news stations and find something productive to do with your life. If you had tabloids and gossip reporters following your every action, I’m sure they could find some less-than-flattering details of YOUR life, too.

I’m with MM.
Double yuck and what the heck does it have to do with his golf game?
Tiger should have listened to me and kept his mouth shut.

I bet he gives it more than a second thought before he has another affair if he’s still married to a lady that obviously can swing a golf club. Next time it might be a baseball bat! Good for her.

I think to cover this story is okay, only because his business is his public persona and therefore who and what he does off the golf course is of public interest (although not mine). (although I don’t think he owes the world an apology or statement)
If all he did was make money from golfing than that would be one thing, but most of his money comes from selling Buicks, clothes, and various other items to consumers. If he has done something that tarnishes his brand name, then the buying public has a right to know. If your not interested, read something else.
Of course, I guess you all would be right if we lived in a world where everyones private life was, well private… but I’ve never lived in such a world, at least not in my lifetime.
