Mary Takes Aim At MikeK … Again

In her latest newsletter, which was posted today at OpenCDA.com, Mary Souza opines that the Jim Brannon’s lawsuit could serve to clean up Idaho election laws. But she didn’t stop there. She then dredges up “the most famous local story” (of questionable residency, involving — who else? — Mike Kennedy, in 2005. Mary notes: “His house was not in CdA. His wife and their six children lived in the home that was not in CdA. (They were not divorced or separated.) He ran his business out of his home office in the home that was not in CdA.  But Mike claimed he fit the residency requirement to run for elected office in CdA because, for 30 days beforehand, he “rented” a basement bedroom from a friend who lived in the city.” Mary goes on to drag City Attorney Mike Gridley and City Clerk Susan Weathers into her complaint (although she fails to mention that she finished third in the three-way race with Kennedy and that Kennedy was building a home in Coeur d’Alene Place at the time). Must be a slow day at OpenCDA.com — at least, slower than usual.

There was a last minute hit piece on Kennedy with those allegations that even the Mess editorialized about it being wrong and a smear.

She has nothing better to do, so sad!

Flowers bloom in the spring. The sun rises from the east. Gas prices go up in the summer. Oprah loses weight and gains it back. Mary Souza writes another obsessive rant about Mike Kennedy. There is a bit of comfort in the knowledge that there are certain things in life you can just rely on.

What I find amazing is how she dredges up the past and states it as fact when she knows it isn’t. Then when someone brings up her past transgressions (Backed up by facts) she has a fit and cries foul.

Mary Souza is a bitter nag. I feel sorry for her family knowing that every morning when they awake, that’s what they get to look forward too.

Those who can do. Those who serve do. Those incapable of either tend to stand on the sidelines and grouse. If Mary and her ilk want to create a real following they need to get away from their keyboards now and then and get out and really work for community good. I am very tired of these one-note tea party types telling me what is wrong with my city government when they have no track record of their own.

If I devoted so many words and so much time and energy to another man as Mary does to Mike, my husband would not be happy.
    Just saying.

“Jim Brannon’s lawsuit could serve to clean up Idaho election laws.”—LOL. Well my cursory review of the complaint and the law seems validated by that comment. God help ya if that’s what you’re banking on. Ironic they seem to be relying on “judicial activism” for salvation. I smell a successful motion to dismiss should the bond amount not do them in. Oh right, their first argument will be they are not required to post one. Good luck with that.

Good point Cindy. I wonder if she could be found guilty of stalking. She does kinda have that boiling rabbit aura around her.

Time for Mike to take out a restraining order?

I think Mary has a crush on MikeK and Thom George, maybe they should sext her some pictures?

  • nic on December 04 at 4:40 p.m.

    1. If this is such a valid concern, how come she didn’t use this to challenge the election 4 years ago?

    2. If this was true in the 2005 election, what bering does it have on the 2009 results?

  • nic on December 04 at 4:43 p.m.

    3. I now have a bad mental image than I can’t unsee thanks to Phaedrus.

Just the fact that Mary Souza goes back four years to the 2005 election (and her third place finish in a three-way race) is proof that she has never gotten over it.

“Time for Mike to take out a restraining order?”

Perhaps Mary’s comments don’t ring well with the HBO masses but I, for one, am glad we live in a society where speech cannot be restrained.

  • IdoDave on December 04 at 5:25 p.m.

Who wants to restrain free speech? I think Mary, Dan, Larry, etc. should speak up loud and long. Everytime they open their mouths or type a word they dig themselves in little deeper.

maybe (MikeK) should sext her some pictures

I think I remember one of Mike in firefighter garb. Sorry, Cindy, if the image of the first destroys your love of the latter. :)

“Mary Souza is a bitter nag. ”

I love seeing truth in print.
