Boise State Vs. TCU In Fiesta Bowl

No. 3 TCU and No. 6 Boise State will meet in the Fiesta Bowl, marking the first time a BCS game other than the championship game had a matchup of unbeaten teams. It’s also the first time two teams from conferences without automatic bids to the BCS have played in the five big-money bowls in the same season. Mountain West champion TCU (12-0) earned an automatic bid to become a BCS buster for the first time in school history. Western Athletic Conference champ Boise State (13-0) became the first team from a non-automatic qualifying conference to receive an at-large bid. The Horned Frogs and Broncos played in the Poinsettia Bowl last season. TCU won 17-16, to hand Boise State its only loss of the season/Associated Press. More here.

The BCS powers that be appear to be saying “Separate, but Equal.”

Idaho vs Bowling Green is a good matchup. If Nathan Enderle is healthy, I think the Vandals will win.

By the way, Idaho just demolished #25 Portland by 20 points in basketball. Told you they’d save the weekend for area teams.

Boise State beat Bowling Green back there 49-14, up 42-0 in the 3rd quarter.

Idaho Men’s Basketball just beat #25 Portland by 20 points. It was a great game (I was there with the family) and Portland trailed the whole time. I was impressed by our Vandals - nice work.

At halftime Coach Akey took the court and announced that 30 minutes earlier he had just received the phone call inviting the Idaho Football team to the Humanitarian Bowl!

Good job Vandals - a remarkable turnaround by both teams.

This TCU vs BSU stunt is complete crap. Pure and simple. None of the powers that be want to see either of these teams beat one of their protected darlings. There is so much chatter out there about the non bsc schools having no legitimate chance against the big boys. All year long that has been the song and dance from both sides. Now, pitting them against each other gives neither team the chance they deserve to put up or shut up. Before the announcement, I thought the BSC was an 8 out of 10 on the scam chart. It is nothing but a fraud.

I don’t know about that Jimmymack, but I just think it will likely be a great game with two closely matched teams with lots of good old fashioned pride on the line.

I’m hoping it’s a great game too DOTC, but TCU and BSU players and coaches are feeling fairly outraged right now. These two teams played each other in a bowl game last year. I think they deserve a shot at the other automatic qualifiers to put to rest some of the question marks that don’t go answered under the current system.

This tiime there was no denying BSU a BCS game. The choice of opponent however speaks volumes of political wrangling by the committees.TCU is possibly the best team in the country and the ‘BIGS’ are happier than you know what they won’t face them or BSU this year.Would’nt want the truth to be known ya know.JMAC is right on.
