Dog owners and animal control workers show off Chihuahuas that have deluged the Bay Area's animal shelters at the Animal Control and Care center in San Francisco, Wednesday Dec. 9, 2009. California has more Chihuahuas than it can handle. It's gotten so bad in Oakland, they have started shipping them out of state, said Megan Webb, director of Oakland Animal Services. They have sent about 100 to Washington, Oregon and Arizona, she said, "and as soon as they get them, they are ready for new ones."
