HBO Poll: Hanging Out w/Sarah Palin

MamaJD: I sum her up as gracious, charismatic, engaging and energetic. She seemed to be in a zone meeting/greeting/signing. She was unbelievable in her stamina for all the signatures. She smiled as brightly in the evening as she did in the morning as she was boarding the bus from the Resort. On page A11 in the CdA Press, she is pictured holding my pink sharpie as she signed one of my books. I spent 6 hours next to her in two locations yesterday. I never saw her frown, look tired, sigh from fatigue, or rest. Todd Palin was the same way. I also noticed that she spent extra amounts of time in Sandpoint for the students that interviewed her for a school assignment. More below.

  • Thursday Poll: 89 of 152 — 59 percent — said Palin fans who waited all night at Fred Meyer for an autography were “crazy.” 42 of 152 — 28 percent — said they were inspired. 12 of 152 — 8 percent — said they wished they could believe that much in a politician.

I did not ride the bus. The bus was for family and close staff like security. I did not once see Sarah Palin stop the line in order to take a small break. Building and perimeter security was handled by local contractors & some police. Her close security detail was retired Secret Service who traveled with her on this book tour. He was a very nice gentleman who shared stories of his time closely guarding Bush 41. I did not purchase a book in Sandpoint as I brought my own three in purchased elsewhere. The Sandpoint book owner required that those in line must have purchased the book from his shop. I heard from those in line that they paid the full $28.99 in Sandpoint.

It should be noted: I did not state the Former First Dude looked “hot.” I think he looked handsome.

Trust me, I could sit and sign books with a shyte eating grin too if I got the money for it. I could also be affable and even quite charming as well.

Hmmm… now I know what MamaJD looks like. :)

  • Phaedrus on December 11 at 1:06 p.m.

    I want MamaJD’s autograph!

  • Bent on December 11 at 1:18 p.m.

    Nice pix… that’s keeper DFO…

The photo included with this story was provided by MamaJD and posted with her permission. BTW, Phaedrus, I knew you would come around eventually on photos I posted of Sarah Palin. ’-)

    Palin/MamaJD 2012!

  • IdahoDad on December 11 at 1:21 p.m.

It’s hard not to like somebody wearing an Idaho Vandal sweatshirt. It would be so much easier if Sarah would just put on a Boise State shirt and then my distaste would be completely unconflicted.

  • Bent on December 11 at 1:35 p.m.

I agree Idaho Dad…that is one HOT ticket!

  • eagleeye on December 11 at 1:43 p.m.

Put MamaJD first on the ticket and I would consider it.

If, after viewing the photo of Sarah Palin and MamaJD, you feel a need to hear Van Morrison sing “Brown-Eyed Girl,” you should click on this YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SP60n9v2YM

    Palin:

“Sons of Idaho!… I am Sarah Palin!”

    PalinfootsoldierJD:

“Nah, Sarah Palin is seven feet tall!”

    Palin:

“Yes, I have heard! She kills Russians by the hundreds! And if she were here, she would consume the Democrats with fireballs from her eyes, and bolts of lightning from her arse!”

“I am Sarah Palin. And my enemies do not go away. I saw
good conservatives scorned. My husband… I am Sarah Palin. And I see a whole army of my countrymen, here in defiance of tyranny and logic. You have come to buy books as free men. And free men you are! What will you do with freedom? Will you blog?”

EJS, you? Affable? Charming? Not for a minute. :)

  • otisgexperience on December 11 at 2:19 p.m.

Now, if I could just catch a glimpse of Bent…

I have a picture of Jennifer Lopes and I that was taken at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. Strangely enough, Jennifer doesn’t look quite as wax-like as Sarah Palin does in this photo.

  • Sisyphus on December 11 at 2:39 p.m.

She’s a very attractive woman with intelligent eyes, warm skin and a beautiful smile. And the other one looks like Sarah Palin.

Wow celebrity worship much? I did a write up when Obama did Boise to an overflow crowd of 14,000 with unhappy people left outside in the cold February morning and writing about the content of his words and his vision on what he would do to redirect our country from the cliff we were headed. I don’t think I mentioned anything about his signing stamina. ;-) But I do recall many from the right bank criticizing the fact of the event as all fluff, no stuff, unscrupulously avoiding the substance of his words and accusing liberals of mindlessly following a charismatic celebrity.

  • MamaJD on December 11 at 4:18 p.m.

Sisyphus — I think you made me blush. ;) Palin style wink, of course.

Next up for the Mamarazzi is coffee with Walt Minnick. But at least I’ve been invited to that one ahead of time.

  • keithincda on December 11 at 4:44 p.m.

Sis>>>”writing about the content of his words and his vision on what he would do to redirect our country from the cliff we were headed.”

So when is he going to deliver? Taking us away from the proverbial cliff I mean?

FWIW…the Repubs do have the best looking women in politics, and I met MamaJD way before seeing this picture.

  • Charles_Dixon on December 11 at 4:53 p.m.

” the content of his words and his vision on what he would do to redirect our country from the cliff we were headed”

And what’dya know… He turned us around alright. Did a complete 360, that guy. Same purported cliff, different driver.

  • Stickman on December 11 at 5:11 p.m.

    MamaJD: Great picture.

  • Stickman on December 11 at 5:13 p.m.

otis: If you want a glimpse of Bent, come to a beerfest sometime or a blogfest. Then you will know.

  • BethB on December 11 at 6:29 p.m.

Where do I comment about my vote? (which was “other” on the survey) - I believe she will never be ready to be president because I do not believe she will ever generate sufficient curiosity about the details of how the country and the world works to hold the office of presidency.

  • wheels on December 12 at 1:35 p.m.

Mama JD, congrats I see U siezed the moment.I’m envious.Stiickman is right…GREAT photo
