Jeffrey Reznicek/UIdaho Argonaut opinion editor proposes to fix the BCS bowl selection process by staging a bracketed tournament featuring 16 teams (like Division I-AA now does). You can read what the graphic above means in his column for the current issue of the Argonaut here.
Question: Do you think Reznicek’s idea would work? Can you think of something better?

YES - this is exactly the format we need. If the crapola bowls featuring six win teams have a problem with it - so what. They can pony up and get there name on one of the first round “bowl” games next year. This is a VERY good layout!

Can I just say how much I love the University of Idaho? Awesome stuff. Love this plan. Good job Jeff!
(And an opinion editor that provides answers instead of complaining about politics… whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? What is this new age journalism the Vandals are teaching?)

The current pack of Argonaut staff members are an awesome bunch and Jeff did great work with this. Of course, I totally agree and he drew it up perfectly.

Of course it would work, but it never will work..
I think the best solution is to make accepting a BCS bid contingent upon agreeing to play contending Non AQ teams in future seasons. Nobody wants to play BSU for example. If BSU played a game against a team like Florida, Oklahoma, or LSU, there would be a lot less debate over weather they are good enough.
