Item: US granted Citibank ‘massive tax exemptions’/AFP
More Info: The US federal government has exempted Citibank and a number of other financial institutions that received bailout funds from paying billions of dollars in taxes, the Washington Post reported. The Post said Wednesday that tax exemptions were offered to several companies partially owned by the government, including Citibank, which “will be allowed to retain billions of dollars worth of tax breaks that otherwise would decline in value when the government sells its stake to private investors.”
Question: Do you support the move to give Citibank and other financial institutions that received bailout money ’massive tax exemptions’?

Hmmm, help out the big guys while the little ones struggle to survive. Sounds about right.

So, they give tax breaks to the banks that they have ownership in but not to other banks that went it on their own. Sounds a little unfair, doesn’t it? Great for competition in America. Typical Obama thinking. Unclear.

These Banks are exempt while This Nation can’t seem to get it together on a health plan? We’re spending zillions to keep the wars going, meanwhile these banks don’t have to spend billions on tax payments? Sounds as if Citibank paid these tax bills, it would make the Government look bad, since Citibank is partially governmentally-owned? Can a Government tax itself to pay off the Government? Something’s out of whack here.

A tax break for those that have multi million dollar salaries..
Is this Obama or Bush 3.0?

I’ve said this before, but how much would these banks save by NOT sending me credit offers almost every day? :)
